I really appreciate your thoughts on all of this. I went through a time 2 years ago when God asked me to stop serving at church, stop leading and hosting community group. I felt like it was punishment because I enjoyed all these things, but they kept me so busy that I lost focus on being a missionary at my work. It is dangerous to get so pulled into "ministry" that it enables us to avoid our real calling. I still occasionally ask God permission to get involved at church again, but He is silent. Your post is a good reminder again to remember why we were called here, to this city, at this time, and pursue that wholeheartedly:)

Jesus wasn't really at church a whole lot. He had communion with the Father all the time, and he made community with the people around him. Although I believe in community within the church, I also believe that there is a strong tug on every person's heart that truly has felt the heart of the Father to be with the lost. Not lost in the lost, but sharing life with them through His eyes (vision) and hands (touch and healing).

Don't know if that made any sense?
