Pull Back the Sky

March 1st, 2008

Here’s something from my journal today. I’ve also got some music to go along with it, but this time (unlike my Feb 10th post) I’ve decided against sharing the demo recording made on my phone. My computer setup is a bit broken at the moment, but should be squared away within a week. I can then make a little better recording, and thus hope to share this music soon… :o)

Thanks for this image go to mmagallan at sxc.hu

Some nights it seems
  like You're too far away
And when I speak Your name
  I hardly hear myself

Some days are full of
  everything but You
I keep on looking for the truth
I know You're standing at the door

Pull back the sky tonight
So I can see Your face
With nothing in the way
Pull back the sky
Pull back the sky
Pull back the sky tonight

They can take all of the stars for all I care
What good are they to me if You're not here?

Pull back the sky tonight
So I can see Your face
With nothing in the way
Pull back the sky
Pull back the sky
Pull back the sky tonight

Wow. Reading these lyrics made me think of a dream that I had awhile ago…and basically you just described it! He DID pull it back!!!!!! That’s the amazing think about our Father. You just have to ask….

    Wow…Thanks for sharing Jonathan!!

Thanks, Abby!!! I emailed something to my sister Julie the other day and she said that the words I’d sent expressed just the same thing that she’d been experiencing with life and God lately. It’s so cool when you’re given something that others can identify with and/or find helpful!

I’m just wonderng where you get your photographs (like the one for this post.) Are they all yours or do you get them from somewhere else? Or is is a mix and match?

Thanks for asking, Allie! I like to use my own photography to illustrate my posts whenever I have the time to find or make the right thing. However, I’m often short on time and end up using something from sxc.hu, a really great community for royalty-free images. When I do that, as in this post, you can hover over the image to see who is credited with the image, and you can click on the image to go to where I got it from on SXC.
