I find my response resonates with Amy's - the question of my purpose has flitted through my thoughts often of late.

I find it comforting, realizing my life was made with purpose. I often live double-minded, unstable in my desires and dreams, but it gives me great comfort recognizing God made my life with purpose, and that if I pray and seek Him, He will show me what those plans are.

Often times, it is after a season of quiet contemplation and devotion that I am able to trust my heart with the things it delights in. If I just do what I like, without first setting my heart on Christ and His kingdom, I may find my desires and His at odds, but if I seek first His kingdom, as His word demands, then He will add all else, including my heart's desire, and the fulfillment of my dreams.

This is a topic I posted on this past week. Do I stay the career course or follow a passion to serve as a new career? Reading the book You, God's Brand-New Idea, Made to be Amazing by Max Lucado has this very ideology. The world tells us we can be/do anything we want to do in life, but in reality we should be focusing on what God's purpose is for our life. Then and only then will we be completely satisfied. Phillipians 4:9 MSG - God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

I am just starting to learn that my life is a winsome story that should make others want to lean in and hear. I was made to be an incredible wife and mother and if I don't do it, my husband and kids won't be everything God wants them to be.
